We have an associate community services committee that plans and executes six to eight community outreach projects per year.  Some of the projects we have participated in during the past year include:  Save the Dunes, RC&D Emergency Home Repair Project, Backpack donations for a local elementary school, Winter Coat Donations for a local school, Dress for Success, DE Mud Run, Sunday Breakfast Mission, Special Olympics and Cancer Walk.  Our associates bring ideas to the committee, which in turn determines if the company can get involved at the time.  If decided that we can, the committee develops a marketing and execution strategy for success of the initiative.  Each year the community outreach initiatives change so that we can get support a variety of different nonprofit organizations and learn more about how we can make a difference in our community as an organization.


Job Description

 

SUMMARY

Responsible for providing quality Building Automation Systems sales, support, engineering, and sales to operations transfer for Seiberlich Trane Energy Services.  This includes full knowledge of Trane products (BAS and Equipment), Niagara controls systems and their applications. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Identifies potential opportunities with existing and new customers.
  • Collects project data and compares to the offices capabilities.
  • Develops relationships through sales with multiple buying influences in the customers organization, including project managers, project engineers, and construction.
  • Gathers and validates preliminary information and performs facility walkthrough, construction plan review or other requirements.
  • Determines project needs, constraints, and responsibilities to meet all of the customers HVAC system design and installation requirements.
  • Develops, evaluates, and discusses possible solutions with sales and customer.
  • Develops preliminary project fulfillment schedule.
  • Responsible for project take-off, selection, pricing, and integration of equipment, controls, and services.
  • Responsible for the preparation and review of the proposal scope.
  • Validates the preliminary proposal with sales and customer, as required.
  • Determines proposal price and selling strategy with sales.
  • Reviews and compares contract terms and conditions with Trane/Seiberlich Trane contract standards.
  • Prepares transition documents and communicates project readiness for assignment to operations team.  Schedules and attends turnover meetings from sales to operations.
  • Resolves major deviations from scope with team after Project Scope Validation.
  • Provides total account business activity reports and annual forecasts.
  • Provides knowledge and consultation in the form of developing HVAC system related solutions for the customers’ problems, including financial and performance-based considerations.
  • Consistently ascertains customer needs and current market opportunities. Assembles, coordinates and interacts with sales team as needed for customer penetration and project acquisition.
  • Coordinates with consulting engineers and sales in writing project specifications.
  • Coordinates with Estimators in the interpretation of specifications and preparation of proposals.
  • Assists customers in answering technical questions on BAS systems, installation, operation, maintenance, and problem resolution.
  • Develop integration strategies for clients to manage their various building functions through a single interface.
  • Develop control system strategies and technology maturity paths for our owner clients.
  • Responsible for keeping abreast of BAS products, product design, and requirements for installation as well as working knowledge of HVAC principles.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal work hours, as required.

  • BAS customer experience surveys at or above 8
  • Follow-up on all BAS proposals within one day of issuance

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Associate's degree/Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology or business management
  • Minimum of 5 years of accomplishments in progressively more demanding roles in Building Automation Systems required.
  • Experience in successful Building Automation project design, scope development, negotiation, execution, and post completion service.
  • Experience in educating clients in the use of their Building Automation Systems and providing value- added upgrades when appropriate for the application.
  • Exposure to multiple controls systems and integration of BAS with metering, lighting control systems, industrial controllers, tenant billing systems and other automated building functions required.
  • Understanding of financial paybacks as related to Building Automation and HVAC Systems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Autocad (view only), and programming.

  • Perform all duties with the goal of building and maintaining long-term customer relationships
  • Immediately address any customer’s concern.  Request involvement of other Company personnel as required.  Notify Team Leader of any major concerns and the action taken to resolve

Typical office environment

  • Typical construction job sites which includes outdoor work and work in mechanical/equipment rooms.  During the job site visits, the associates is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
